	Pray for the Hungry (PDF) Hunger is a problem that has plagued humanity for millennia, and it continues to haunt us. According to the World Food Program, hunger is the world's leading health risk, killing more people every year than AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis combined. And every 15 seconds, a child dies of hunger-related causes. Join us.
	Education for Children (PDF) Millions of American children attend school - one of the greatest privileges a child can enjoy. Getting an education helps build richer life experiences, better job prospects, and higher incomes. Countries with a more educated populace generally experience higher economic growth.Today more children than ever are being educated. Primary education enrollment in developing regions has increased from 83 percent in 2000 to 89 percent in 2009. Moreover, girls are just as likely as boys to attend primary school. Meanwhile, the global adult literacy rate has increased from 76 to 83.6 percent over the last two decades. Nevertheless, there is still much to pray for.
	Focus on Christ (PDF) The glitter and excitement of the holidays can leave us harried and breathless. But the gleam of anticipation in a child’s eye — reflecting the magic and wonder of the season — reminds us of the hope we have in Jesus Christ. And as we focus on Him amid the barrage of worldly noise and commercialism, we remember how much Christ in His earthly life identified with those who are hurting. Join us in prayer.
	Pray It Backward and Forward (PDF) The new year is an opportunity to be persistent in our prayers, just as the Apostle Paul instructed the Thessalonians to "pray continually" (1 Thessalonians 5:17). This month, let's look back at a few situations we prayed about in 2011. Then, let's pray about matters we need to lift up every day in 2012.
	Those Affected by Natural Disasters (PDF) Disasters can strike unexpectedly — any time, anywhere. Consider the devastating earthquakes in Haiti and Japan, the deadly tornados in the Midwest, severe flooding in Pakistan, Hurricane Irene, and the wildfires in Texas. Other disasters, such as the extreme drought happening now in the Horn of Africa, can unfold over months or even years. Sadly, according to the United Nations, 90 percent of those impacted by disasters live in developing countries where resources are already in short supply. Join us in prayer.
