A Community Training Curriculum for Middle School Students
For Grades 6-8

Make Your Mark educates middle school youth in transformational leadership development, civic engagement, and advocacy. Transformational leadership development encourages youth to discuss and identify their own strengths and reflect on their feelings and experiences in their neighborhood. Civic engagement is developed as youth learn that their voice counts, and are given the opportunity to use its practiced when they reflect on the various ways they can use their gifts and skills to make a difference. Youth develop advocacy skills through the creation and execution of an advocacy project. Five two-hour training sessions give participants the tools to support them on a journey toward becoming an agent of change in their community, the nation and the world.
